It was also inaccurate to say that the newspapers didn't mention
the fact that Cook took advantage of a pre-trial diversion program 
that nobody else had even APPLIED FOR.

The Journal-Star did report this.

Perhaps they will follow up on this a year or so from now to see if,
having been publicized like this, anyone else takes advantage
of that pre-trial diversion program.
