Texas is not going anywhere. The LHN deal is too rich financially for them

Jim Delaney won't consider it. I don't think Mike Slive will go for it
either.
Good point. Where would they go? I don't think the ACC, Big 10, Pac 12, or
SEC would have any interest in Texas at all. They all make plenty of money
and have an excellent product to sell in place. The existing members
already have plenty of in-conference competition right now. And they don't
need the money. Think Alabama, LSU, Ohio State, Michigan, USC, Oregon,
Florida State, Virginia Tech want Texas in their conference? I don't,
there is no upside for them. Schools like A&M and TT are attractive as they
bring in the Texas market, have quality programs, but not super
powerhouses. I really think Texas is either committed to their existing
conference and will now look to add teams (minions?), or less likely, go
independent.
I really wonder what Oklahoma thinks of all this. This makes three schools
leaving, and whatever replacements they get are not going to go far in
"enhancing" the conference image as a place where top notch football is
played (and lets face it...this is all about football).
