I suggest everyone who will be getting the Big Ten Network ought to go to
the bigtennetwork.com and roam around a bit. They will post their TV
schedule two weeks in advance (that means tomorrow you should be able to see
programming schedule for the first Saturday games). Most of their
programming appears to be in HD, but its difficult to tell whether each
provider will broadcast that in HD. I think it really will be up to each
cable provider. The dish folks will be taken care of, since it appears that
all BTN channels appear in HD (but someone can correct me on that since I
don't dish).

There's some other interesting things there too. One is a segment they're
running with WhatifSports.com to see what would be the likely results if
Nebraska had joined the Big Ten 15 years ago. They've been running
simulations for each season since 1996. GASP! Ohio State won the Big Ten
in 1997, beating Michigan in the conference championship, and playing in the
Rose Bowl. Nebraska supposedly had three conference losses. Seems a bit
fishy. But I think they've completed the 1996 through 1998 seasons.
There's a link to WhatifSports.com on the BTN.

Now there's a subject worth arguing about. Based on statistics alone,
Nebraska wouldn't have figured in the MNC in 1997. Something's missing
there I think. Something like Dr. Tom's last season and what that meant to
that team, maybe?
