As sports columnists go, it's probably more accurate than a lot of 
pieces I read.

A bit tongue in cheek?  Gee, you think so?  :-)

According to Wiki, Cowley holds the distinction of being the only 
major league pitcher who pitched a no-hitter (with the White Sox in 1986) 
but then never won another major league game.
