[Husker] More focus on football?

This is becoming a common trend. My own university is looking at going to a "tri-mester" system as a way to make more efficient use of resources. It makes little sense to have all this expensive plant and equipment used only 8 months out of the year. I'm not sure that enhancing the football team is really part of the equation, though at the big schools football is almost always in the equations some place.
Additionally I know that both College Park (Univ. of Maryland) and Penn State are accepting some incoming freshman on the condition that, once matriculated, they begin taking classes in the summer.

The NCAA will have to vote on that first. I would be surprised if this was
allowed by current NCAA regulations. I also do not see the NCAA approving of
it.

Slightly off topic here, but I'm not sure how many other folks on the list
work in higher ed, or have seen this 'proposal' at the University of
Florida...

I am sure Urban Meyer is licking his chops waiting for this to pass...
Any chance Nebraska would consider this? To me it seems it would GREATLY
benefit fall sports participants.
