The only thought I had after the first game was that NU could be run on up the middle. You just don't turn it off and on when trying to knock the snot out of the other guy. L David is a stud and when he learns a few more techniques on how to shed blocks I think they stop getting gashed. I still believe NU is that good too

Didn't CFU stop Thomas. While KSU is looking at how teams have run between
the tackles on the Huskers, don't you think Bo and the boys will be looking
at how CFU stopped Thomas. Also I have a gut feeling that Compton will be on
the field against KSU. What is everyone else's thoughts.

Dave says it might be too harsh to say we've wrecked our season.  Mike
says no way.  I'd say that's hogwash.  We overlooked a team that had a
reason to play us hard.  They knew coming in that if Nebraska had a
game like the one at Washington (the one I think we all expected), the
game would have been over at half.  But Nebraska didn't play like
that, they played like they expected things to just fall into place,
and things very nearly fell apart.  Good for the Jackrabbits.  They
played a hell of a game and still lost.

Perhaps that's exactly what this team needed after a game like
Washington where things really did fall into place.  That should teach
them (and if it didn't, I'm pretty sure that's going to be on Bo's
mind this next week and a half) that nobody can be taken lightly, and
you should never expect things to just work out.  I'm just glad they
had this kind of game against someone who we could beat even if we
nearly screwed the pooch.  Anyone remember Iowa State last year?
There's one where nothing went well, and we lost to a team that had no
business being on the field with us.  I take this win as the
proverbial wake up call.  These guys are gonna hear it all week long,
right up until a week from Thursday.  Never look at another team as
not worthy of your best effort.  And just be glad it was SDSU.  You
might not be so lucky next time.

Now, for KState, can we stop the run as well as we need to?
Washington and SDSU did some real damage running the ball up in
between the tackles.  That worries me much more than anything else,
cuz while KState may not be able to do much, they can run between the
 tackles.
