I actually thought it a good question as well (though the email did sound
like you were turning on CG).
Transferring has to be going through his mind. QBs expect to be the best and
as much as any of us like CG, the odds of him beating out a healthy TM are
slim.
Trivia question, what QB caused future HOF and SB winner Troy Aikman to
transfer from Oklahoma to UCLA ?

Wow.
Let me put a stop to this right now.
First, I apologize for my previous post. Not because I think it was wrong,
but because I think it's being misunderstood -- probably because i jotted
something from my phone as opposed to typing something with an actual
keyboard...
...anyway, let me be clear. *I am NOT 'turning' on Cody Green.* In fact, I
think it's just the opposite. I want him to play, and be great, and reach
his potential as a quarterback. I just don't know how he does that from our
bench.
Let me say what I should have said before:
0) When Cody got his shots yesterday, he was perhaps trying to hard and made
some mistakes. It happens. However, it's not helping your cause if you're
vying to be the starting quarterback. So...
1) Taylor looks like our clear #1, barring injury.
2) Technically, Taylor is a year behind Cody, so it's likely that Cody could
be a 2nd stringer for his entire career.
3) While it's fantastic for us fans to have a great talent at 2nd string for
3 years, it sort of sucks for him.
4) And it looks like we're favoring more of the elusive, jitterbug type QB
(Carnes, Turner) v. big, mobile QB going forward.
5) ...there's a lot of reasons where it might make sense to transfer. Hence
the line, 'Cody might love to play quarterback more than he loves Nebraska'.
Again, in hindsight, i can see how that can be misinterpreted. What I
should have said is, 'if Cody wants to start at quarterback, he might have
to leave Nebraska, even if he loves it here'.
So, again, i apologize. i am vehemently opposed to criticizing players - my
rule is never to say something about a player that i wouldn't say to his or
her face. i don't think suggesting that a transfer is a good option is a
criticism - it's just being real.
GBR,
