And since when does the "brave" mentioned at the end of the Star Spangled Banner refer to those in the armed forces? I've been singing that song a long time and I never remember thinking, never remember anyone at all saying or implying or teaching or explaining, that the "brave" means those in uniform. I contend the "brave' does not refer to our soldiers, it refers to all the people of the United States of America. You, me, our soldiers, our mothers and fathers, those who serve and those who don't. It's the "land of the free"...all of us, and the "home of the brave"....all of us. Some may dislike playing around with the last word, or any other word for that matter, of the National Anthem, but it is not a slight against our men and women in service. This is all bs, yes even you Coach Stoops.
