Happy WKU game day to everyone. And a pleasant Labor Day weekend to all of
those who labor.

I'm going to predict a Nebraska victory today. 48 - 0.

Another great day for Helu, but the Player of the Game: Brandon Kinnie

Enjoy the Scarlet Dancers, der vienerslinger, the Runzas, the weather and
the victory!

Go Big Red!

Subject: 2010 Schedule (changed)

2010 season. Two questions were asked:

With this schedule, anyone think we won't be better at least on paper next
year?

First, the schedule stinks. I am thrilled that this is the last year of the
scheduling non-sense against certain non-conference teams. Future
(2011~beyond) schedules are more appealing from a competition viewpoint.

I don't think the Blackshirts will be better on paper. It's difficult to
improve on a number one ranking in sorted categories. More importantly, I
see more blowouts next year, which in turn should yield more on-time
experience for those players silently absorbed in the depth charts. I doubt
Bo would risk injury to starters to preserve a shutout with a 3 score lead
in the 4th quarter. I could see him trying to prove a point in a bowl game
or against a Big XII 'powerhouse'... but not against Idaho or South Dakota
State. I might be wrong here...maybe he would risk injury to a starter, but
I doubt it. Therefore, at the end of the season, on paper, the gaudy
statistics of the Blackshirt starters might be toned down because younger
guys are getting more reps in game settings.

The re-building process is done; and the Coaching staff is already in the
re-loading process. It's part of the master plan... the non-conference
games (TBD, Fresno St, Wash and Wyoming) in 2011 will require a better start
... The Huskers cannot wait until November to blossom or the MNC will
already be in the rear-view mirror.

I do believe that the Offense will be better on paper because I honestly
believe that their re-building process will be complete by the time KSU
rolls in to Lincoln to start Big XII conference games. The 'experience' in
the program this year wasn't always pretty...but the players' climb up the
learning curve exuded itself in the final games of the season.

Overall the team did manage to come within a FG in three losses...so the
difference in ending 10-4 vs 13-1 is very encouraging.

Any more than 2 losses max?

I don't see any losses. Book your tickets now for Phoenix. The Huskers
will either have a date in the Fiesta Bowl on 01JAN11 against Boise State;
or the NC game on 10JAN11 against Alabama.

If I am wrong, at least you can enjoy abundant sunshine and 70 degree
weather away from the frozen plains.

See y'all at the Spring Game!

Go Big Red!

The Hilltoppers, Sun Belt Conference, were 0-12 last year, with only 2 wins
the year before.

>  Sat, Sep 11   Idaho  Memorial Stadium    TBA

The Vandals, Western Athletic Conference, were 8-5, winners of the
Humanitarian Bowl vs. Bowling Green.

>  Sat, Sep 18   Washington  at Seattle, Wash.    TBA

The Huskies were 5-7 with wins over Arizona, USC, and Cal, but an overtime
loss to Notre Dame.

>  Sat, Sep 25   South Dakota State  Memorial Stadium    TBA

The Jackrabbits, 8-4, losses at Minnesota and Montana, ranked 11th in the
FCS. (An embarrassment)

>  Sat, Oct 02   Kansas State *  at Manhattan, Kan.    TBA

>  Sat, Oct 16   Texas *  Memorial Stadium    TBA

Bowl team loser

>  Sat, Oct 23   Oklahoma State *  at Stillwater, Okla.    TBA

Bowl team loser

>  Sat, Oct 30   Missouri *  Memorial Stadium    TBA

Bowl team loser

>  Sat, Nov 06   Iowa State *  at Ames, Iowa    TBA

Bowl team winner

>  Sat, Nov 13   Kansas *  Memorial Stadium    TBA

>  Sat, Nov 20   Texas A&M *  at College Station, Texas    TBA

Bowl Team loser

>  Fri, Nov 26 -

>  Sat, Nov 27   Colorado *  Memorial Stadium    TBA

With this schedule, anyone think we won't be better at least on paper next
year? Any more than 2 loses max?
