[Husker] Big XII Suspends Eric Martin for Mizzou Game

I agree with your points Mike. As I watched the video, it looked to
me like he did lead with his helmet.

Having been on the field/sidelines as a player, coach and now as an
athletic administrator, I have seen the seriousness of helmet to
helmet hits and resulting concussions. My own son still has no
recollection of an entire day during his junior year of HS football as
the result of a very severe concussion. His injury wasn't even the
result of helmet to helmet contact -- just a good clean, legal hit.
That happened almost 9 years ago last week.

I am curious if anyone from the Big 12 office actually talked with or
interviewed Martin(or anyone else from Nebraska) before the suspension
was levied. Just wondering what the entire process consisted of and
whether or not every Big 12 game film is analyzed for these type of
hits?

I am also certain that other players should have been suspended for
similar types of hits, but as Mike said, "timing is everything!"

Chalk it up as a lesson learned(with no injuries to either player) and
learn from it!
