I played C (and TE) and snapping the shotgun with a guy over your head is a dicey play. You snap and you know you are going to get clobbered. Now MU's starting NT broke his ankle (and he is one of their best players) against OU. Caputo would have his hands full with a shotgun snap and trying to drive him off the line.

Good point, Andy. There were a few times yesterday that surprised me
when we went to a shotgun formation when it seems obvious an under
center snap would have been to our advantage (a couple of third and
shorts, for instance). I guess that will be something we look for
next week. I think a lot of what we do on offense comes out of giving
Martinez a better look in shotgun. I myself would be surprised if we
ran less shotgun, but I'm also going to watch the Mizzou-OU game later
this week and see what they did on defense. Don't ya just love DVR's?
Anybody note the Huskers lined up a few times with three down linemen
on defense? I thought that was interesting. I know we did it a bit
with Suh, but then that was Suh, who could get in the backfield even
with a double team. We don't have that same guy on our defense this
year, so it was obviously to give us an extra guy in the defensive
backfield.
