A couple of comments on that. First, I didn't listen to the TV guys
but had the Husker radio broadcast on during the game (odd that the
radio was a few seconds behind the TV, rather than the opposite).
Matt mentioned several times that OSU passes were under thrown, which
are very hard for good CB's to track. I think its basic training that
the CB's watch the receiver and look for when he reacts to the ball
then turn your head and look for the ball. If you look back too early
and its over your head, the receiver has a step. But if the ball is
slightly under-thrown, the advantage is to the receiver. If a CB
sneaks a peek too soon, it goes against his training. And under
thrown balls are most often the cause for an interference call on the
CB.

Something that others haven't mentioned but the disparity between the
QB's couldn't have been greater. Martinez is a sophomore (red shirted
freshman) learning and growing. Weeden is 27 and has been doing this
for some time. The maturity shows, and it wouldn't have surprised me
a bit that a lot of Weeden's throws were calculated to be under thrown
a bit, with the idea of getting an easier reception or a cheap
penalty.

And I thought Dennard did a very good job on their one wideout, while
Amukamura had some difficulty. There probably isn't a comparable guy
on any team we face this year, and none with the experienced QB. But
the coaches have said that Dennard may be better than Amukamura though
Prince is getting a lot of the focus.

The runs up the middle still bother me. Not sure what to expect from Mizzou.
