David, I don't interpret the statement you say Bo made as turning on his own 
fans.  I think it is simply a statement of fact as he perceives it....and, I 
agree with him.  The Huskers have been rising in the polls due to the balloon 
that they rode after the AZ game.  A sound defeat of KSU and huge rushing yards 
have been interpreted by fans I know as a powerful, multifaceted offense by NU.

I try to remind them that KSU had one of the poorest rushing defenses in the 
nation when we played them...worse after the game.  TX is the best team we have 
played IMO.  We made a huge number of mistakes and were out coached, IMO.  The 
Huskers are a work in progress.  Yet the fans are so hungry for another national 
championship, they view success as proof of the Huskers return to the upper 
ranks in the nation.  Most are looking through red-colored-glasses when they do 
so.

A statement that Nebraska is back has merit.  We are a LONG WAY from the 
Callahan debacle.  That doesn't have to mean that we are among the 5 best teams 
in the nation.  I believe we can get there.

This article certainly rings true to me.  Reality bites.  Only part I don't 
really agree with is Martinez being one-dimensional.  While he doesn't appear to 
be an above average thrower, his receivers can't catch. Makes it pretty tough on 
a qb.

And more from our head coach:

"We're not a finished product," Nebraska coach Bo Pelini said after the Texas 
loss. "People around here want to make us out to be the '85 Bears.  We're not 
there yet."

Sounds like he's talking about the fans again, doesn't it?  This guy turns on 
his own when he loses.  He did it last year too.  OK Pelini, so I guess when you 
blathered last year after your big Holiday Bowl win that "Nebraska is back and 
we're here to stay", what you really meant is "Nebraska is back to not being the 
'85 Bears"?  Oh but you lost the biggest game in many, many years and now you 
are a work in progress? And you talk with scorn about your own fans.

Our head coach is a jerk.  Next time he drops his pacifier he should put 
something else in his mouth besides his foot.
