With reference to item #2...I could not agree more. This was the
single biggest disappointment in the game execution.

It would appear that Coaches had the right play calls, and the QBs were
fairly 'on target'. Ended 8-21 / 77 yds.with zero INTs. Give them 6 of the
dropped passes and we'd say 14-21 / 177yds with 2 TDs was a brilliant game
day! It would turn the QBs rating from the dismal 68.9 to 140.3 !!! Yes,
Virginia, there is such a thing as T-Magic. Compare that to Gilbert's 57.6
game rating. Kudos to the Blackshirts who were the least of the team's
execution problems.

~~~
On the other hand, the WRs . . . these young lads that are just that...young
lads.  The game adrenaline, or whatever, prevented some of the basic skills
in which they were recruited for:
#22: 02JUL1990 - 20 yr old - SO from Plano, TX
#84: 27DEC1988 - 21 yr old - JR from KC, MO
#24: 09AUG1989 - 21 yr old - SR from Omaha, NE
None of us were perfect when we were 21 yrs old either.
~~~
Now, on to Stillwater, against an undefeated OSU team, where the Big Red has
never won a Big XII conference game. Sure the Cowboys are undefeated, but
the seven W's came against mostly mediocre teams. Their passing game
strength falls into our Blackshirts strength - #1 ranked Pass Defense. The
trick will be to contain RN Hunter *AND* keep pressure on Weeden. Remember,
Weeden is *NOT* a scrambler with 13 carries in 10 starts for minus 52 yds.

Further, their defense is ranked 92nd. It will be an scoring explosion for
the Huskers. Huskers 38- Cowboys 20

Go Big Red!
