I had the pleasure of hearing a former player, number 33, put this and the clunkers last year squarely on the leadership of the players

....was embarrassing.  Nebraska used to be a program that prided itself
on treating every opponent equally and not looking at one game as any
more important than the next.  None of that seemed to apply to the 2010
Texas game.

Since last year, everyone had this game circled on their calendar.  The
athletic department made a point of emphasizing this game as a "Red Out
Around the World".  At one point, they even released a video that ended
with "Beat Texas."  Coming into the stadium yesterday, I heard plenty of
fans who thought we were just going to show up and win handily.  One
genius even screamed "I"m ready to see a Big Red Ass-Whoopin' today!" in
my girlfriend's ear, as if we were just entitled to see a win
yesterday.  All this off-the-field crap put the pressure on *us*...not
Texas.  The Longhorns approached this game with a relaxed, business-like
demeanor.  They showed up and flat-out beat us, fair and square.  I'm
just as guilty of this overdone hype as the next fan, but I think the
entire program should be humbled by this.
