[Husker] Surprised; not surprised

I wasn't surprised that Texas shut down Nebraska's running game. As
I'd pointed out, Texas' rushing defense is #19 (and actually better if
you look at average yards/rush). Martinez's speed is exciting, but all
the speed in the world doesn't help if there isn't a hole to run
through. I was surprised that having the run shutdown didn't lead to
interceptions. I was often surprised at how open Nebraska receivers
were at times (especially with Texas' #8 pass defense). And with the
wind and both teams having top passing defenses, I thought there would
be some ints by both sides.
Nor was I surprised that Texas got some key runs against Nebraska.
Being 57th in rush defense after a soft opening schedule showed this
defense to be well below last years.
The biggest surprise and disappointment were the dropped passes.
Without those (and the 1 lost fumble), Nebraska wins. Getting beat is
hard, but in beating yourself is harder.
I still think Nebraska has a good team and a decent chance to win the
rest of their games. Let's hope this loss get's them to focus and play
to their potential the rest of the year.
Go Big Red!
Andy
