[Husker] no predictions?

I predict it will be Red and Loud!

Let's be cognizant that Texas is still a juggernaut program, and recognize
that Mack Brown will bring the boys into Lincoln with something to prove.
Forget the losses to UCLA and Oklahoma...they don't matter. Texas has
recruited extremely well and they have loads of talent. The team chemistry
might have been missing early in the season but I have no doubt that the
coaches will have improved schemes on offense and defense to best utilize
the players' skills.

As for the Huskers, T-Magic will likely break a long one. What happens when
he gets hit...he will get hit, won't he? This years' offense is unproven
without Martinez. It's too big of a risk to let him fly around the field
like some freak-of-nature. The O-Line needs to have an edge on Texas'
D-Line to allow Burkhead and Helu some valuable yards..traps and
misdirection. Throw in some play-action to Kinnie or McNeil.

On the other side of the ball, the Blackshirts simply need to play 'mean and
nasty".

Gain field advantage with Special Teams play... Note to all PR and KR ....
Hang on to the ball !

So how will the winning team exit the stadium?
1. Keeping the pre-snap penalties to an absolute minimum.
2. Maintain control of the ball with a patient attack.
3. Use an aggressive defensive posture.

I agree that this game will be a close one. Nebraska 24 - Texas 21.
Sunrise is set for 7:40am on Sunday.

For you history buffs, back in 1933, the first ever meeting was described as
follows:

Nebraska entirely smashed the Texas Longhorns as these teams met for the
first time, delivering a sound shutout defeat that left no doubt as to
Nebraska's aspirations for the 1933 season. Not once during the previous
7-1-1 season was coach Bible able to play everyone on the roster, but
against Texas on this day the backups began to cycle onto the field in the
third quarter. The Cornhuskers outgained the Longhorns 320 to 85, and Texas
never got closer than the Nebraska 30-yard line.

Of course, that 26-0 win came before Dana X Bible left Nebraska to coach
Texas.

Go Big Red!
