I believe the list weather expert's last name was Coleman, but I could be mistaken?

Some guy starting with a B would be the statman, Bapi Gupta.  Don't ask how I
remember this but loved his contributions.  I believe he also compiled his own
computer ratings which seemed to be a whole lot more objective than some that
were being used in the computer polls which helped determine who played in the
national championship game.  All the others you mentioned that had a major role
in contributing, a great big thank you for the info.  And Mike, I remember the
textcasts when I first moved to Tennessee and couldn't get anything but SEC on
radio, TV or newspaper.  You were a lifesaver back then and we thank you for all
the work you've put in over the years.

Come on group, a standing ovation for our fearless leader! (wish I could find a
standing ovation smiley!)

Great posts all! A BIG thank you to Mike for having the foresight to start this!

Being exiled in California all these years (since 1972) the list was a huge
connection for me and my family to our "team."

I remember Mike's streaming text and I remember some of our list members that
are no longer with us for one reason or another.

Bob, Greg Mays, our "Weatherman", the Loon, our stat's guy - what was his name?
Started with a B --- so many others. Some that got "chased" away by arguments,
some that just drifted away.

Through good times and bad, the list has been consistently there for us. THANK
YOU, MIKE! Bless you!

I remember the textcasts too.  They were hosted on huskers.com back when it was
an *unofficial* website that had no affilation to UNL.  For a long time, the
official UNL page for husker football was huskerwebcast.com.  I don't remember
what happened, but eventually the guy behind huskers.com gave up on the site and

UNL purchased the domain.  Anybody remember that old site?  It had a chatroom
(running on some terribly slow java applet).  I thought it was the coolest thing

in the world to be able to interact "live" with other Husker fans.

Out of curiosity, I looked up the site on the web archive and found that most of

the 1996 version of the site was archived.  You can even view the textcast page
here -
http://web.archive.org/web/19961106044700/www.huskers.com/football/play-by-play/

...It even looks like some of the games were archived!
