I remember the textcasts too.  They were hosted on huskers.com back when it was an *unofficial* website that had no affilation to UNL.  For a long time, the official UNL page for husker football was huskerwebcast.com.  I don't remember what happened, but eventually the guy behind huskers.com gave up on the site and UNL purchased the domain.  Anybody remember that old site?  It had a chatroom (running on some terribly slow java applet).  I thought it was the coolest thing in the world to be able to interact "live" with other Husker fans.

Out of curiosity, I looked up the site on the web archive and found that most of the 1996 version of the site was archived.  You can even view the textcast page here - http://web.archive.org/web/19961106044700/www.huskers.com/football/play-by-play/  ...It even looks like some of the games were archived!
