I remember the textcasts too.  They were hosted on huskers.com back when 
it was an *unofficial* website that had no affilation to UNL.  For a 
long time, the official UNL page for husker football was 
huskerwebcast.com.  I don't remember what happened, but eventually the 
guy behind huskers.com gave up on the site and UNL purchased the 
domain.  Anybody remember that old site?  It had a chatroom (running on 
some terribly slow java applet).  I thought it was the coolest thing in 
the world to be able to interact "live" with other Husker fans.

Out of curiosity, I looked up the site on the web archive and found that 
most of the 1996 version of the site was archived.  You can even view 
the textcast page here -

...It even looks like some of the games were archived!
