Man, you are right about the hype machine, Martinez and the Huskers are everyone's "gee whiz did you see that?" But I hope most people inside the nation are trying to keep it all in check, and have been since the pre-season polls came out. Those were like the elephant in the room no one wanted to talk about. Thursday night's game was awesome to behold all right, but I've seen a few comments and stories that note that KSU was both outmanned and outclassed, just not in our atmosphere as a team in any way. And our strength of schedule is suspect, and there is still plenty of time for us to be exposed, etc, etc. Our toughest opponents are certainly still ahead of us. In particular, I have always thought that the road games vs. OSU and A&M will be the toughest games for us to win this year. Missouri is very good and has two big games before us, @A&M and OK,they could lose both and still be very dangerous. Take no game for granted.

Let's see where we stand at the end of October. If we are still undefeated then (whew!), I'm good to start banging the drum. My hopes for the season were and are 1. beat Texas and 2. win the Big 12. For #2, we have to get to the game to have a chance to win the game (I have a keen grasp of the obvious.) BCS bowl? I don't care about bowl games. BCS NC game? I'm not letting that into my head until Dec. 5.

Dave
Wear red, be LOUD, BEAT TEXAS!
