Ok as to defense, we lost to experienced LB, Fisher and Compton and these were the guys going to call the plays on D. Martin and David had to come on with out much playing time last year and are learning the system. Remember, David only had a couple of days to prepare. Yes they are still missing signals but with every game and with two weeks practice now, I believe we will see a big improvement by these two and the LB's in total. Ekeler himself admits that the LBs are what is slowing down the defense. I think we will see a big improvement.

Subject: [Husker] KSU stats

Getting pretty excited for Thursday night. In conference, In division, this is
he real deal. Road game, two undefeated teams. We've played four games, prep
ime for this season is over. If we've got it, now is the time to bring it.
I don't know what any of this really means at this point based on the level of
ompetition, but it may provide some insight into the teams tendencies.
Rushing Offense
eb - 4
SU - 22
Passing Offense
eb - 102
SU - 82
I think both teams would rather run than pass.
Rushing Defense
eb - 53
SU - 102
Passing Defense
eb - 3
SU - 13
Neither team defends the run that well, Nebraska a bit better though. Seems
ike both teams are going run first, pass off of that, and hope they don't get
n a situation where they have to pass to get back in the game. (Just like old
imes, eh?) Huskers have a multi-pronged attack - Martinez #11 in rushing, Helu
60, Burkhead #61. KSU relies on Daniel Thomas #5.
Dave
