[Husker] bowl musings

Almost none. And that was even before they lost Friday night. Now the Broncos need some significant breaks even to go to a BCS Bowl.

Six of the 10 BCS slots are taken up by the BCS conference champions. TCU has clinched the seventh. Boise would have to be picked ahead of Stanford, Ohio State or a second SEC team (Auburn or Arkansas) for an at-large spot. And the Sugar or Orange (or Rose in the off chance that TCU gets into the BCS Championship Game) would have to decide to take the Big East champion for their bowl instead of choosing any of those other three (or Boise State, for that matter). The Big East champion must be taken by somebody and the Fiesta Bowl gets last pick this year for their at-large spot. That is why some many pundits are placing the Big East champion in the Fiesta.
