[Husker] bowl musings

This pretty much captures my sentiment. I don't dislike UConn, what's there to dislike? (unless we're talking basketball).

The problem is that UConn will be nowhere near the Top 25. Their record this year is far from impressive (heck they even lost to Rutgers, a team that is playing more like the Rutgers of twenty years ago rather than more recently). Besides the fans in Connecticut or Nebraska, who is going to actually watch this game? There are no real bragging rights at stake and as Roger mentioned, the downside potential is huge.

I stand corrected about the Cotton Bowl in the event of a loss in the B12. Makes sense that we won't go back to Dallas. Plus a three loss Nebraska will be lower rated than a two loss OSU. Actually a Nebraska-Arizona match up might not be unattractive. Better than Mizzo- Arizona don't you think?

I just saw a bowl report that the Orange picks before the Fiesta, hence they'll have the choice of Stanford or UConn. I can't imagine the OB picking UConn over Stanford. Maybe a few thousand more UConn people travel to Miami, but the ratings would be awful.

Sorry to any UConn fans lurking out there. But we just have to admit the Big East rep this year is poisoning the BCS.

As I see it, if we play UConn, it sets up for a no-win situation for the
Huskers...If we beat them, so what? We were supposed to beat them. If they
beat us, holy cow, what an upset! The Huskers must be worse than anyone
thought.

What is so bad about playing the Huskies ? I haven't really watched them play,
but they do have four losses is that the problem ?
