Did touchdown Tommie have a lot of friends on the team ? From what I have
heard is that he didn't but the players respected him as a player and the
leader of the team.

Subject: Re: [Husker] Pelini-Martinez
I've got a real problem with this article. In a somewhat rambling opening,
he finally gets around to:
"Pelini's quarterback — the face of his team — apparently can't decide if
he's fully committed to Nebraska. Part of the family or not."
and
"But right now, he might be a threat to team chemistry."
So to supports these statements, he goes with:
1. Taylor contacted his father via phone from the NU locker room while
getting his injury attended during the A&M game.
2. His dad came down to the bench at the end of the Texas game and they
talked during the last minute of the game.
3. He missed the "Shakeout" on Sunday which the head coach said was excused.
4. He missed a practice in August which the head coach said was excused.
Then he goes on to say that in #3 and #4 above, he "may" have quit the team
and come back. What? Nothing to support this. He talks about what he did
in high school and says that "In Lincoln, he still comes across too often as
an independent contractor — a mercenary." What? Nothing to support this.
"After the Texas loss, Martinez was the last one off the field and into the
tunnel because he was taking pictures with family." So what? "He's quiet,
sometimes distant. He hasn't made a lot of close friends around the Osborne
Complex." What? Nothing to support this.
Everything else after that is utter drivel. Anyone could have made it up.
Something is going on with this writer. What is clear is that he doesn't
really know anything about it.
Could one of the journalism type folks on the list please comment?
