First to all the Listers - a very Happy Thanksgiving!

Now on to my thoughts on Husker Football:

1) Coach Bo Pelini - yes, with all his 'spit and fire'. I was not
offended by what transpired last weekend. In this mamby-pamby,
politically correct, metrosexual world it is nice to have someone that is
passionate about what he does. I work on rockets for a living and during
integration, things can get rather heated at times. In the rocket
business you don't get a second chance and everyone I work with is very
passionate about what we do. (here are some links to that last two
rockets I worked on: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2yoCKX_2Ut8,

I see Coach Pelini the same way. While it is true that the military has a
code of conduct for their officers, I would be Navy beans to credits that
in the heat of battle that code of conduct is not on anyone's mind. I
also like that Coach Pelini owned up to what he did and realized how his
behavior influences his players. He is truly someone that we can be proud
of because he is passionate about Nebraska Football; he'll go to hell and
back for his players; and he owns up to his actions. There were times the
past that Coach Tom Osborne was so stoic you almost had to wonder if he
cared if the team one or lost. (I did hear from brother that while Coach
Osborne would not jump on the referees during a game, he would rip them
pretty hard during his evaluations.)

2) AD Tom Osborne - I am thankful that Nebraska has an AD that know
football is king and that the players are students first and athletes
second. I know that will provide good mentorship to Coach Pelini to
ensure that Coach Pelini does not get into too much trouble. Hey, it's
Tom Osborne, what more is there to say.

3) The upcoming game against Colorado should be a win, but this game is
huge for the Buffaloes and I am sure that they'd like nothing better than
to knock Nebraska out of the Big-XII Championship game. It will hurt if
Taylor Martinez is not 100% (or does not play at all) and with Niles Paul
out. I hope that the punt and kickoff returns don't suffer too much. Rex
Burkehead has done a good job. Brandon Kinnie has good hands and appears
to be a 'go to guy'. I am wondering if the offense will ever see the
tight end open down the middle?
I am hoping that the Huskers are fired up and blow Colorado out on
Friday. Win, lose, or draw I am behind Coach Pelini and this team!

Once again,

Happy Thanksgiving!
