If this worthless crew is working the game, NU ought to stand on
principle and refuse to play the game unless a neutral (e.g., Big Ten;
they're not busy that weekend) crew is brought in.

The actions of the conference office at that point would send a clear
message to the remaining members of the Big XII-II about how they will
be treated if they ever show disloyalty to Dallas. Refusing to staff
the game with a neutral officiating crew would be an explicit signal
that they don't care about the integrity of the game, they're just out
to screw NU. Nebraska would be in a no-lose situation, as the Big
XII-II is already withholding our 2010 share of conference revenue,
but a forfeit would cost the conference a huge amount in advertising
revenue, plus possibly a second BCS at-large berth.

(Disclaimer: This idea is not original with me - I can't remember if
another Huskers List member came up with it, or if I saw it elsewhere.
 Apologies to the original poster.)

A wise and frugal government, which shall restrain men from injuring
one another, which shall leave them otherwise free to regulate their
own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the
mouth of labor the bread it has earned. This is the sum of
good government... - Thomas Jefferson, First Inaugural Address
