I didn't hear the conference but they were talking about it on
Unsportsmanlike Conduct with Steve Sipple this afternoon. According
to them, Bo did mention the availability of Lee, said that he was
available this last weekend and was available the week before. Sipple
said that Lee was seen warming up before the game on Saturday, and
that he could throw the ball, but not likely for distance or with much
zip. You might call him serviceable.

Cody Green throws a nice ball, but at times he seems to try and really
wing it, which almost always results in an overthrow. He tried to fit
one in on McNeil this weekend, a tight hole in the defense, and it was
WAY over thrown and intercepted. If Lee plays, he's not likely to be
able to throw any deep balls, which has been our big play ability this
year. But I think he runs the current offense better than Cody. He's
quicker with reads, and his ball handling seems harder to read by the
defense.

With that, Cody can be effective, but the offense we're running isn't
one well suited to his skills. I'm not sure why we don't use him in
the wildcat; he's not quick with the ball, but once he gets moving,
he's a force to reckon with. He does need to work on his ball
handling skills - at ISU he almost lost a couple of hand offs where he
pulls the ball out after leading the RB to the line. The ball
sometimes comes loose, which means he loses that first step trying to
get control of the ball. And then there are the fumbles.

Again, this Friday, I don't have a problem with our defense stopping
CU. As last year (and I didn't think I'd say that this year) I have a
concern with the offense scoring enough to support the defense.

Is it Watson? Is it not having the right players on the line to run
this? We don't have an outstanding WR corps, but they've been good
enough to get us this far. We clearly have the running backs. We
have three QB's - clearly Martinez was the one to lead the team this
year, but did we have a contingency for a loss of Martinez? I'm not
terribly sure anymore.

Just a minor worry for a Monday.

Nick
