I know you can get numbers to mean a lot of things, but there's  
definitely some things to think about with these numbers.  Our own  
penalty average is too high because we've done a lot of stupid things  
and shot ourselves in the foot a number of times (although if you take  
out the A&M game, it's just over 6.8 per game), but all but two of our  
Big XII opponents had under their average in the game in which they  
played us.  And apparently A&M miraculously cleaned up their game to  
play us, too.  As for the conspiracy theory, maybe the numbers just  
show the overall low level of Big XII officiating.

My math could be off slightly, too, as I was not thinking all that  
clearly last night after the game.
