>Williams, 6'1" So F, was a highly ranked recruit and played
as a Fr last year, but hasn't played in a game this year. Do you
know about her situation?
I talked to Mehgen Williams mother and father at the game on Wednesday.
Mom told me that Mehgen is about ready to resume full
practice, so hopefully we will seeing her in games shortly.
As far as no post's next year, Coach Yori does not feel that you need a
aircraft carrier post in her schemes. She wants a group of quick mobile
bigs who have more skills to move around. Even though Redmon is mostly a
traditional post, she runs the floor as well as any big girl I can
remember..
So the team will not have a traditional post, we will still have a whole
host of 6'2"-6'3" players to choose from.
As far as depth, I think we are better off then some on here have
suggested. Coach Yori stated on here post-game talk that she did not get
as deep into the roster as she had planned on.
The reason for this was the unique style of Miami. You won't see another
team that can play five extremely quick guards all at the same time like
Miami. They also press full court. This was the
reason for Ms Zeroes 39 minutes. KB & McCann-Smith will give her a lot of
back-up support down the road. And 'Nique played 31 minutes, much more
that planned, just because she took the game over
in the second half. Go with your hot hand, Something Doc could learn I
think. Reeves and a Sidhu are both capable role players that can help. It
was just the unique situation the other night.
Woodberry, I don't know. It looks like a red-shirt for her. She does not
look to be in the shape the Yori requires to play her system. That's my
guess
Our biggest problem is defense, not surprising considering our relative
youth. Young-ens don't realize defense is required in high school.
