our defense is postured to stop the passing game. We have defensive backs playing linebacker. we are undersized on purpose. Obviously this makes it easier to run the ball against us, Pelini knows that. An earlier post mentioned we are daring other teams to do longer drives against us. How many drives of longer than 60 yrs have we given up? How many sustained drives of 10 or more plays and how many of those ended in TDs? If we give short fields from turnovers like we did for Texas and ISU they are going to have some success. I loved last years defense and STUFFING the run, lots of sack et. That being said it is not the strength of this teams players. We have tortured some pretty good passing QB's (washington and MU). Mobile QBs are a challenge for us, thank goodness we dont play against Martinez : )
