It was indeed l-o-u-d --- not Mizzou L-O-U-D --- but still pretty darn
l-o-u-d for an away game. I didn't expect to see what I saw at Ames...as
Dennis Green would say... "We aren't who we thought we were."
Anyway, here are my quick observations:
(1) Pre-game tailgating was festive! A lot of fan intermingling with
absolutely no ill-will witnessed before, during or after the game.
(2) The State Fair Corn Dogs hit the spot.
(3) Noticed that # 21 was demoted for the Coin Toss team.
(4) Rex-Magic deserves the game ball for his play as de-facto, 4th string,
QB.
(5) #24 is a %&$*! Senior. I am not going to badger him [or his family].
However, in a split-second decision, he decides to take the ball ~5 yds
deep, out of the end zone. Then fails to secure the ball (fumbles) and
allowed the Cyclones to gain all of the momentum. Is it fair to expect more
out of a senior? The Huskers never did regain control of the game. We
left the stadium only after Hagg snatched victory from the jaws of defeat.
Whew!
(6) The team chemistry just wasn't there in Ames. I really hope all of the
injured players with nicks and bruises, strains and sprains all get better
before the Texas A&M game.
(7) We sat next to fellow lister, Brad and his bride. Had a great time
despite the usual colder-than-it-looks bleachers.
Go Big Red!
