ISU won the flip and chose defense because it is a HUGE advantage to
have the other team go first. If they don't score, all you need is
a FG. If they score a TD, you know you must score a TD. That is a
HUGE advantage.
NU didn't choose the end they meant to choose, which worked out fine.
In fact, I sort of thought that NU might be better choosing as they
did because NU was running the ball better and ISU had relied more on
the pass. So, it might make sense to choose to go into the wind.
