According to Chip Brown, Texas has reached an agreement with ESPN that 
would pay $12 million per year to broadcast the Longhorn Network. That 
amount would be on top of the $17 to $20 million UT would receive from 
the Big 12 TV contracts. Brown notes that "one of the reasons" UT 
decided not to join the Pac 10 was that league's insistence that UT drop 
its plans for its own network. "One of the reasons"? Right.
