I would not be surprised if things happened a lot faster than that, if only
because the other conferences aren't going to sit around and wait for
the Big 10 to make up its laundry list, and the conference that acts last
will only get the leftovers, if there are any worth having.
The key to everything is Notre Dame, when they decide to join a conference
that'll be the point at which everything happens VERY FAST, as in days or
possibly even hours.
The Big 10 is the one that still makes the most sense for them both
geographically and financially, but will the right people see that?
I think the Big XII is likely to be the conference that gets picked apart,
it is just a question of who goes where. Fortunately for Nebraska fans, Nebraska
has a somewhat better hand to play in this than at least half the other teams
in the conference, with the weakest hand probably being Iowa State's, or maybe
Baylor now that they don't have the power of the Governor's office behind them.
