[Husker] Sweet Sixteen --- Kansas City here we come!

In this case, however, we have the best team in school history and people don't even bother jumping on the bandwagon.

Not shocking. First of all, it's women's basketball, which doesn't get a lot of coverage regardless of what team you are. Women's basketball fans think that people want big names, but when someone like UConn runs through a season destroying everything in their path, it lessens the interest, not increases it.

Second, It's not ego building. Let's face it, sports fans like to live vicariously through their sports teams. That's especially true for men. There is nothing in this team for these types of guys, nothing.

I went to the Husker games here in MInneapolis. It was much much fun. Any time I can be around other Husker fans and scream at the top of my lungs, it's a good time.

But now you can walk up and get very good seats, it will be the same way for WBB give a couple of years after they fall back to being not so good and the crowds will be back to the 2500 or that they had before they beat LSU KSU. I guess I'm calling all those people bandwagon jumpers.

Even when I have been talking about the how much I enjoy watching them play, they will make a comment that is obviously regarding the men's basketball team. Devaney should have been packed for all the Big XII season, yet it was only the last couple of games that were close to sellouts. All I can say is they missed a great basketball season and a great bunch of Lady Huskers.

>>> At work, there is a Husker Alum who tells me "Lynette, I keep telling you, I don't watch women's basketball. I'd rather watch paint dry!"
>>> Very sad because this year's team has been extremely entertaining. I do think they play "rough." Lots of bumping and contact.
>>> We were down to UCLA by 9 and up to 11 points early in the game and came back to lead by 5 at the half and win by 14 or 16 points! This team just finds a way to win.
>>> So telling when the TV announcers posted the matrix of the number one seeds, previous Sweet Sixteen appearances, Final Four appearances and National Championships - UConn, Stanford and Tennessee have numbers in each category. Nebraska had goose eggs in each category! Now they have a "1" in the Sweet Sixteen column.
>>> Connie Yori called the Huskers a "Cinderella" team. That's true. Even though they are a number one seed. They are making history for themselves and the UNL Women's Basketball program.
>>> You guys are missing a LOT of fun!
