[Husker] OWH (Shatel) sums it up nicely

Now that we've had a day to digest this, Shatel puts out a really good
column asking some serious questions of the 'rest' of the Big XII:
http://tinyurl.com/29szboo
Telling quote:
"The Big 12 loses a major piece of inventory (Nebraska), can't have a
conference title game without adding two more members and has one major TV
game (OU-Texas) in mid-October, often at 11 a.m. What exactly are the
networks buying? How do you get to $17 million per school? And doesn't the
Big 12's deal with ESPN extend to 2015?"
Just for the record (some may not know this), but the 'other 9' stayed based
on what Beebe PROJECTED Fox to offer next year for the TV contract, there is
no current deal in place.
And don't go feeling sorry for NU, the average TV income for every Big 10
school is over $20 mil (way more than they would have made in the Big XII)
and subject for a raise in both 2016 and 2026 (Beebe's plan will be flat
through 2030).
