[Husker] Non-Conference Schedules

I agree - I see two chances of Nebraska playing TX or Oklahoma in the near future - unless forced by some BCS type bowl situation ( I think TX or OK might even opt out of bowl invites to lesser bowls if possible) slim and none.

Joe Schad this morning on ESPN said the Big 12 (sp?) is expecting to use the 32 million in buyout money from NE and CO as part of the expanded payout to the remaining teams. I wonder if that is supposed to be equally divided or if TX made the deal that their money is guaranteed and the little 7 will need to get the lawyers to get this part of their cash! Does anyone think there is that kind of payout and how much of it will be paid?

Never assume anything, but there is no apparent need to change non-conference
chedules at this time. The Big Ten also plays 8 conference games each season,
o it would appear that the current slate of games would be fine. However, there
as been talk of going to 9 conference games, and that would require schedule
odifications.
As for Oklahoma and Texas, my guess is that unless television intercedes, I
oubt that that Big XII schools will be interested in playing Nebraska in
ootball anytime soon. Basketball, maybe. Volleyball, perhaps. Baseball,
robably, if only because they want non-conference games that don't require as
uch travel.

Am I correct in assuming that Nebraska's non-conference schedule in football
ill mostly remain unchanged? I'm particularly interested in the Tennessee
ames in 2015 & 2016. There were no Big 10 schools scheduled before the switch
o B10.
Now Oklahoma and Texas can be scheduled as a non-conference opponent.
