That was pretty much my original suspicion.  Texas was coming to the realization that they could not dictate to the Pac 10 and would not get their own TV network.  Meanwhile politicians current and former, state and national, worked to keep all the Texas kids together.  Then, I presume, Fox executives put their 2 cents in since if the league disbanded they would have nothing to renegotiate in 2012.  

I am becoming increasingly happy that we are out of the sideshow.  I would suggest that all the remaining schools not named Texas count their fingers after they shake on this deal.  Texas will dictate to them and, at some future time, run when they see even more money on the table elsewhere.  

Texas can't help it; it is in their nature.  After all, they are Texas. /vv\
