But that will be countered by huge sighs of relief from Ames, Manhattan, and especially Lawrence.

However, my understanding is that if only Nebraska gets added, that's just for now because the Big XII is forcing the issue over Nebraska.  Notre Dame and Texas remain options for future expansion...and likewise Missouri as well.  Adding Nebraska gets the Big Ten to the magical number 12 for a championship game.

The interesting thing (okay, ONE of the interesting things) about this is that all the stories speak to the Big Ten making an offer to NU. Period. If that turns out to be the case, the wailing you will hear will be coming from Columbia, and it will be loud, anguished and - above all - angry.
