[Husker] Big 12 discord could accelerate Big Ten expansion

As you say, though, Texas has the strongest hand (outside of Notre Dame),
and they have the least to lose if the Big 12 implodes. I can't see why
they'd be willing to give up huge concessions like the TV network and the
championship games just to maintain the status quo. If they wanted to they
could probably start their own conference.
