[Husker] The fed bringing the hear on the BCS

It amuses me how often people say they want the government to stay out
of their lives while at the same criticizing the government for not
doing more to address a problem.
On this specific issue, the government is not getting involved in our
lives. If our lives really revolve around the BCS antitrust issues, we
have bigger problems than the government. The government is simply
following up on a request from a US Senator (an elected representative
of the people) to review if antitrust laws are being followed. They
certainly have the constitutional right to determine if federal laws are
being violated and if the Justice Department was to ignore a review
request from a Senator, that would be a pretty dangerous precedent.
This issue is being blown wildly out of proportion. It's almost certain
that the time and attention being paid to this by the media and sports
fans is greatly out of proportion to the time and effort being spent on
it by the government, and whatever the government decides is going to
have minimal impact on our lives.

I also do not think it is a governmental decision on weather or not there is a playoff. Each university has to listen to its fan base and then take their decision to the NCAA. Obama and his staff should be taking care of other business not college football.
