Good one, Bill.

I frankly don't think this needs to slide into the bottomless pit of
partisan politics, like the comments on the article's page does in
about 3 comments.  But Mr. Strong has a very good point.  Yes, amazing
as it may seem, they can and do walk and chew gum at the same time, as
well has have relatively intelligent conversations, all at the same
time.  Frankly, as the article points out, the administration wants to
explore whether there is antitrust activity associated with the BCS.
There's nothing in the article to suggest that the government intends
to force anything on college football, other than to dissolve the BCS
if its found to be operating illegally.  It is isn't a violation of
antitrust laws, then fine.  We can then only hope that the colleges
come to their senses and fix this mess.  But I don't see the Obama
administration, or Hatch himself, or even Congress as a whole coming
in and forcing anything on the BCS as long as they are operating
legally.  Ain't gonna happen.
