[Husker] Boise State

I read a number of the blogs on the bottom of the story in both the Lincoln
Journal and Idaho Statesman. A lot of the Boise State bloggers think a
2-for-1 deal is unfair and that they are a strong enough contender to be
offered a 1-for-1 deal. Last fall, Boise state issued it's "one and done"
request to fill a vacant slot on its 2011 schedule. They still have no
takers to host them on September 2, 2011. I personally think TO should've
included that game in the offer.

My comments on the Idaho Statesman story haven't posted yet because
first-timers have to wait for censorship/approval. But, below are my
thoughts:

Boise State football has had unequalled success over the past 10 years.
This improvement has occurred at a time when Nebraska’s program has
struggled. Still, Nebraska is one of seven Div I (FBS) schools to have
reached the 800 Win mark, and the Huskers are currently ranked 4th all-time.
Memorial Stadium in Lincoln has been sold out for every home game since
1962, and the current capacity is at 85,000. Given the <35,000 seating
capacity, a 2-for-1 series is a fair offer for Boise State University. If
it were based solely for on-field merit, a 1-for-1 series would be
justified
but big time college football is about money, too. Nebraska would
travel well and could easily take ½ of the Bronco’s seating. I am excited
about the chances of Tom Osborne and Gene Bleymaier reaching an agreement.
This would be a definite improvement in both schools’ non-conference
schedules
this can only help recruiting for both schools. The rewards would
outpace any negative outcomes, win or lose. The Broncos would be welcome to
Lincoln!

It looks like Nebraska and Boise State play some football starting in 2015
it would be a 2 to 1 deal. here is the link
