I don't have the exact results in front of me, but IIRC, Nebraska scored more points in October 2009 (64?) than in October 2007 (56?).  Yet we belittle Shawn Watson and the anemic Husker offense of 2009.   

Yes, the mind-numbingly horrible defense of 2007 was the main reason that Bill Callahan was fired...but let's not forget that his offense wasn't very good either.

 Re: [Husker] Bill in New York I’ve always been more charitable to BC than most on this list.   It was amazing to watch the Jets ground game overwhelm the Bengals last weekend.

I wouldn’t agree that the WCO was a failure at Nebraska.  Our problems were more on the other side of the ball.  If he had even a mediocre DC he’d probably still be wearing red.
