I liked the references to Nebraska, but as a fan of college football
(and a Nebraska fan) I felt cheated by the injury to McCoy. I wanted
to see how he'd do against that defense, and with only 5 offensive
plays, its hard to judge. It looked like he might be able to have
some success, both running and throwing. I wanted to see how he
handled 'Bama's defense, and compare that to how we did against him.
But when he went out in the second series and they had to plug in a
true freshman that hadn't taken a meaningful snap all year, the whole
character of the game changed. The rest of the first half, Texas
couldn't muster much of anything, and 'Bama was willing to play
conservative field position football. And that got them 24 points by
halftime. I think it could have been much worse.

I'm not sad at all that Texas lost, but I wanted both teams to have a
even shot at it. When McCoy went out, 'Bama had a decided edge. We
really can't compare our defense to 'Bama's because of how the game
played out. Really too bad.
