[Husker] Doc Lack of Talent

I liked Barry Collier, though at the end, you had to wonder just where he was going. That's probably due in large measure to the indifference shown by the athletic director as to whether he should stay or go. In any event, guys like Maric and Richardson were productive players.
That being said, we should have a few Collier guys left in the program providing some leadership right now. And I think that's the point being offered; Doc walked into Lincoln in August 2006 and basically didn't have any incoming players. (And had to scramble to build a 2007 class with everybody else having a 6 month head start on recruiting...)

Subject: [Husker] Doc Lack of Talent
I feel I need to address the idea that Collier left Doc nothing to work
with when we left. That is just flat out wrong.
Here is a list of players that Doc inherited when he got here.
Chris Balham
Aleks Maric
Marcus Perry
Charles Richardson
Mike Smith
Marcus Walker
Jamel White
Kyle Marks
Paul Velander
Just because Doc has a real talent for running players off cannot be put on
Collier. And even then, Maric, Perry & Richardson were a pretty good
nucleus.
Collier also had a recruit named Roburt Sallie. So to say that Doc
inherited a big mess is just wrong. Most of the mess is of Doc own doing.
Also Balham and Marks
had injury problems, but that is not Collier's fault either.
