[Husker] Men's Basketball

I've been to 1 men's game OU, and the women's game tonight. I thought the men played great defense and loved the play of the women tonight. However the difference in experence is huge.

The biggest negative I can see with Doc is that pederson hired him! I think the depth of rated teams in the Big 12 has to be a big factor also.

And in the first year, he was hired at the end of July...so he really didn't get much of a chance to do any recruiting for that first season.

In fact, that explains a lot about that lack of experience. Barry Collier was left in limbo in 2006, not sure if he was going to be fired or be given a contract extension. Steve Pederson did neither, and tried to starve out Collier at the time. Recruiting suffered badly; nobody wanted to play for "dead coach walking".

Connie Yori has, what, four seniors, while Doc Sadler is playing mostly freshmen and sophomores. There's a huge difference in experience between the teams.

While you might respond with the 'Sadler should have more players, better experience" line, keep in mind that Yori's in her eighth or ninth season while Sadler is in his fourth.
