I'm surprised no one has written about one of the greatest comebacks
of recent years in the undefeated NU women's basketball team's game
at Missouri. The game was not on TV, so only those who fans in
attendance saw the game. (I listened on the radio.)

NU led by 3 at half, but Missouri came out hot and didn't cool down
much in building a 6-point lead 78-72 with less than 3 minutes left.
However, NU has many players who can make a difference.

To start the comeback, Griffin scored to make it 78-74.

Next, after a Missouri miss, Montgomery hit a 3 to pull to 78-77.

Next, Missouri missed, then Nebraska missed, so Missouri had the
lead and the ball with less than a minute remaining.

Next, Kelley forced a turnover and Turner was fouled, then made
both free throws to give NU a thin lead 79-78.

Next, Moore made a steal and was fouled, then hit a free throw
to make it 80-78.

Moore missed her second free throw, but Turner got a steal and
was fouled. Turner made one free throw to make it 81-78.

Missouri got off a three-point shot and missed, but got the rebound.

Then, Moore got a steal to prevent a score-tying attempt and was
fouled. She made a free throw with 6.7 seconds left to make the
score 82-78 and seal the win.

NU scored the last 10 points in the last three minutes of the game
while limiting Missouri to zero points and only a few shots with
tremendous team and individual defense. Turner, Moore, Montgomery,
Griffin, and Kelley all had a hand in the tremendous comeback.

NU is now 23-0 with two upcoming home games (second-place ISU and
11th place CU) followed by a road trip to second-place OU. If NU
wins its next three games, they clinch the Big 12 regular season
title (with three games to follow) regardless of what the other
teams do.
