[Husker] KSU gets beat by a bad call

I think the rule says that any non-football act that calls attention to the player
individually is a violation, but it's always a judgement call. (Taking a knee and
crossing oneself is apparently exempted by unaninmous consent among the officials.)
There was a very OBVIOUS spike of a ball after a catch a bit earlier in the KSU game,
I've seen spikes like that flagged more than once.
That said, I agree that coaches everywhere should put that one in their video library,
but it would be better if the NCAA would come up with a rule that wasn't so subjective.
(Or at least make the penalty applicable to the kickoff, not the try.)
I could have understood throwing a flag against OSU's Justin Blackmon for catching a pass
last night when he was wide open, running down to the 1 yard line, then running sideways
nearly the width of the field before stepping into the end zone for the TD. Isn't that
just as bad as diving or somersaulting into the end zone?
The 'gutsy officiating call' has to go to the official in the Iowa-Missouri game
who ruled a 4th down Mizzou pass that was originally ruled a catch for a first down
as incomplete, turning the ball over to Iowa and essentially handing them the win.
The ESPN announcing crew concluded (after quite a few replays) that it was the right call,
but then went on to say there may not have been sufficently 'incontrovertible evidence'
to justify overturning the ruling on the field. That ESPN crew earns the 'having your cake'
award.
